Up to Here

One of the six year old girls I tend–the oldest in her family–was watching my elementary school age children go in and out this morning, getting ready for school, as they asked for help with hair combing and such.
"Kimber!" she exclaimed, "You have kids up to your neck!"
(By which she meant that even my youngest boys were getting almost as tall as me–but it's fitting, any way you interpret it.)

Haa, and ironically the smaller they are the more of a "handful" they turn out to be…..

LOL!!! Great comment. I was just thinking that about you yesterday and wondered how you would also take a class. You are an amazing woman 🙂

You know, I always thought that–while my kids were little. But the teens are more of a heartfull–which is harder to manage, and more emotionally taxing. Not to mention expensive…The toddlers accuse you of being mean, or maybe you worry that they will still be in diapers when they start kindergarten–the teens accuse you of things that really hurt–because you know how deeply they feel them, and that they aren't going to forget the next time a kitten walks by. And you have to worry about a lot bigger things. Amazing, though, to see them become honest to goodness people…really amazing.

I'm hoping it won't be too bad! I'm going full time in the fall–but classes are all nights/Saturdays. Getting the homework done will be the kicker, though. Except that I really do enjoy school, so it will be a good adventure!

My first thought was that of Ladywise…Out of the mouths of babes! Cute!
