This morning two preschool girls decide to play doctor. I am immediately alert; this particular role playing game has all sorts of questionable potential–as you might imagine.
So the patient comes in and lays down in the "office".
"What's your problem, little girl?" the Doctor says.
"My arms are backwards and my teeth are broken."
"Hmmmm." The doctor puts her hands on her hips and looks thoughtful. Then she goes over to my big wall calendar and traces her finger along the days. She shakes her head. "Nope. It looks like I'm too busy."
She helps the patient up. "Come back next week and maybe another doctor can see you."

Sounds eerily like an indictment of the American medical mess, I'm afraid!

I love these 'out of the mouths of that' you post. Oh so funny. I wish i"d written down the stuff my kids used to say. But of course I was too busy raising them to care at the time.

I'm sure you cared, you were just to bone-weary to do anything about it! I know, I've been there. I think if I'd have had a blog, back then, I would have–I never have to hunt for my journal, or a pen for that matter. A computer isn't nearly as easily misplaced as the journals were!

OMG _ I just had the same expereince! From GP to procedure, back to GP and then to specialist, back to GP – phone calls between GP and surgeon to get me bumped up the appointment list so I don't wait for two months, and now off to surgeon. GP getting paid just to refer me!
That kid is going to go far in life – she already knows the system! (I hope she doesn't have a parent who is a doctor though!)

No, no doctor parents, but I'm thinking she's been to the Dr. before! This is the same kid who only wears the unique, single socks and rejects all duplicates; you said then she was going far!

hey! I thought this only happened in Canada!

Oh, didn't you know? We want to socialize our medicine just like you guys! Because yours is clearly working so very well… Not that ours is working, either, as is.
